Tom CleggCOACHING

The fine art of coming alongside leaders of all kinds to help them discover their God given potential and in turn yield greater fruitfulness. Through a regular focused conversation with a trained quality coach has been proven to increase ministry effectiveness by on average 300%. With more than twenty-five years of coaching experience Tom focuses primarily upon coaching, pastors, network and judicatory leaders, church planters and missionaries.

Coaching differs from consulting in the direction of solutions. Rather than a consultant putting solutions in to a leader a coach helps draw solutions out of a leader's heart, experience and relationship with God to find the most strategic next steps for his or her ministry.

Ministry leaders lead busy lives working at their ministry: leading, serving and developing people. What they most often lack is the opportunity to work on their ministry. A regular focused coaching conversation provides the optimum platform for that vitally important function to regularly occur.

Coaching with Tom Clegg involves a monthly focused conversation built around a leaders mission, vision and values.  The conversation begins before the phone ever rings or arriving at the coffee shop with responding to questions sent by email from Tom no less than 24 hours before. Preparation by the coach and the client is a critical key to coaching success.

The appointment begins promptly at the agreed for approximately 90 minutes. The coach and client will work through an agenda which driven entirely by the client's needs not the coaches program.  Focusing upon goals and objectives for the purpose of spiritual engagement, leadership development and behavioral change help release a leader into deeper reflection, increased capacity, more fruitful practices, consistently higher quality decisions and ministry break-throughs.

Coaching provides the most reliable context for increasing a leader's capacity than any other form of ministry. It is also Tom's opinion that coaching also takes on elements of spiritual discipline, soul friendship and accountability that gives a leader a lasting form of development and change which in turn becomes an ever deepening reservoir from which he or she may give to those they are leading.  Coaching drives not only a change in personal behaviors but a transformation in life, leadership and ministry.
